People keep saying there's nothing for kids to do in Butte but get into trouble, but if you've ever stepped outside your house, you know that's a bloody lie.

Our personal recommendations for the must-see parts of town.
The uptown library has D&D, video games, movies, anime club, chess club, and lots more. This alone can fill up a lot of your week. Official site here.
There's a Playworld destination playground. In the summer, there's Ridge Waters water park. The Carousel has ice cream, pasties, pizza, popcorn, pop, and more at the Coaster Cafe. The Highland View Golf Course is a par 35 course in the summer, and you can practice cross-country skiing in the winter, and a golf simulator for $25/hr.

Underneath the Sláinte Pub is a hidden classic arcade where families are welcome to play over 20 classic games including pinball.
Saturdays May 18th through October 5th on Park Street. There's typically lemonade, pies, cookies, and all sorts of surprises.

There are lots of great ones in Butte. The best is Stodden Park. At Clark Park there are 3 different playgrounds, a splash pad in the summer or skating in the winter, a volleyball court, and lots of gazebos and grills. Our hiking and mountain biking trails are world-class, and there's one nearby no matter which neighborhood you're in. You can find them all here. If you want someone to go mountain biking with, check out the Highlands Cycling Club.
You can go to the Mineral Museum, the Archives, or the exhibits at the IBRC and Main Stope without money.
We have a fishing pond at Skyline Park and you can also fish at Blacktail Creek. You will need to have a permit if you are over 11.
It's a rainy day and you can't go out and play? Or it's the middle of winter? We got you.
There's a classic arcade under Sláinte with arcade consoles and pinball. Silver Bow Pizza Parlor and Pizza Ranch offer more modern options, and there's a small selection of games at the Miners' Pub (Google still calls it Homestake Pub but that's the right address).
Of course there's the Golden Ticket Cinema in the mall, but also, every Wednesday there's a free movie at the Covellite Theatre. They release details on their Facebook Page.

We have a ton of these including The World Museum of Mining, the Mineral Museum, the Piccadilly Transportation Museum, the Clark Chateau, the Copper King Mansion, and the Science Mine. It's also worth noting that the Archives always has an exhibit that they change out monthly. The third floor of the Library hosts the Carle Gallery, and other art galleries in town include Main Stope, the Phoenix Arts Alliance,and BSB Arts Foundation.

The summer internship is a free, 9 week program that combines art and humanities workshops with volunteer experience.
Up to 12 local high school students get the opportunity to intern at the Clark Chateau. Workshops offer the participants the chance to try out new artistic mediums. Each student works on an independent self driven project over the course of the internship.

The mission of 4-H is to empower youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
The Butte cadet program provides a rich legacy for present and future cadets. The Butte Composite Squadron, since its charter over forty years ago, has worked to develop youthful leaders with the cadet program. The program has contributed to the careers of hundreds of young adults, both civilian and military. Former cadets are now engineers, teachers, pilots, police officers, mechanics, managers, and supervisors. Many enlisted in some branch of the military. Cadets have received Army or Air Forc
